Kaprun

We were not planing to go to Austria in January at all. We were sure that there will be nice winter in Poland. But we were wrong...

I wrote few mails to my Austrian freesking friends and ask them where to go. All of them told me that park at Kitzteinhorn is best right now. Flachau, Dachstein, Penken, Hintertux were bad.I ve been to Kaprun in summer ( Polish days ) and park was really poor so I was little woried about this trip. But agian I was wrong. First of all we were really lucky to catch good weather. I was planing to stay 9 days and Wzorowy, Malenka, Kamel and Wupe were staying only 4 days. I had 5 days of super nice weather wich is good result in January at 3000 meters. Kitzteinhorn resort build 3 snowparks and held Roxy Chicken Jam in december 06. First park is rookie park with 3 small bumps and rainbow box. Second park consists of two kinked boxes, small table top, small kicker and big but really flat 16m kicker wich was rather badly shaped.And last but defienatly the best gletsher park. There was big quarter, c- box, up box,kinked boxstep down, 6m kicker, 8m kicker and 12m kicker. Very good park, many obstacles , the only thing that was missing was big kicker but the terrain is to flat and there is not enough snow to build big kicker I quess. Any way the park is ideal to train new tricks and it is not boring due to big variety of obstacels. I had great time at Kitzteinhorn, I ve learned some new tricks and we had really good photo session with Wzzoro. Kitztsteinhorn due to bad winter in whole Europe is place to be right now. Parks are shaped every days and the weather is good but changeble. And of course there is planty to do in Kaprun or Zell am See. So check out the photos of park and visit Kitzteinhorn this year cause it is worth it.
